Mark Higgins- Sales Director


What is your employment history?

 I started in my family’s tyre business 30 years ago and managed the company until 1999.  After spells as an Area Manager for Kwik Fit and managing a retail outlet at Cheshire Oaks, I joined RHF in 2002 as a Sales Engineer learning everything about fans from the very start and in 2012 I became the Sales Director at RHF. I strongly believe that by working in different companies from family business to medium SME and also a global conglomerate has given me a wealth of knowledge of different employers/customers and their requirements. Experiencing the day to day running of a company from a very young age and having subsequent managerial roles has developed a career I am proud of.

 Tell us about when you joined RHF?

Despite having several offers at the time and knowing nothing about industrial fans, I made the decision to join RHF. During my interview, I was so impressed by their forward thinking to be the best fan manufacturer in the UK. Whilst retaining the family feel to the company, they set out a plan for innovation and investment, which caught my interest.I am impressed that this has materialised and continues to do so. We now employ twice the number of people at RHF, with a massive range of fans and we continue to invest heavily in our factory and our people. We now have the next generation of Fehilys fully involved! – the future looks equally promising.

 What do you find most Rewarding?

I enjoy so many aspects of my role at RHF. Predominantly I am focused on our customers from the long term relationships we have established with companies and individuals to the new clients we serve. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to see a customer requirement going from conception to hearing that the fan is succesully installed and working perfectly. I have a great relationship with the owners of the company and I have a fantastic team around me.

 Tell me about the Sales Team?

RHF sales is not just me! – I rely upon my team to enable us to provide the professional service we pride ourselves in. I put high demands on my people to ensure our customers have the best possible experience in dealing with RHF. From quick and accurate quotations from internal sales to a personal contact with us from our external team, it is imperative that the face of RHF is well received. It is so important to train and motivate the team – I am delighted when we employ a raw talent and watch them develop into strong fan sales individuals. In some way every single employee at RHF is involved in “sales” without whom we would not be successful.

 What are the Future sales team plans?

Continual development of the team is imperative. The more training in fans and their applications we can provide, the better for RHF and the individual. We have an extensive training and support programme to allow sales staff to evolve the careers. As we continue to grow we are always on the look out for enthusiastic team members.

 What are your thoughts on the fan industry?

With such a vast range of fans for so many applications, I enjoy the diversity. Every phone call, every quote, every customer visit being unique. As we are dealing with OEMs, end users, consultants, you start each day not knowing what request will arrive or from where in the world they will come from.

 What message would you like to give to our customers?

Firstly, thank you! It is obvious, but without customers we have nothing! We know you have a choice of fan manufacturers and we appreciate every enquiry and order you provide. My team and myself are here to help in any way we can by making your requirements as easy as possible. RHF have many new developments underway so we’ll keep in touch and let you know!
